Feyachi 20-60X60 AE Spotting Scope

Feyachi spotter with zoomed in featuresThe Feyachi spotting scope has confused the sports optics market with its decent quality at such a low cost.  Can it really be a spotter of value when the price deems it a “cheap” optic?  These days, we’re not surprised to see decent quality with such bottom-dollar optics with foreign manufacturers getting in on the game.  So, what’s the deal on this budget spotting scope?

Is it good enough for the range?  Let’s find out!

The Feyachi spotter is not a scope to fairly compare against others in the market three times its price.  There’s nothing striking about it that would seduce a shooter away from a brand-name scope except for the price.  We suspect this is the idea of the design concept: keep it simple and affordable.

However, it has all the fundamental features you want in a spotter.  The entire frame is wrapped in an Army Green, matte, textured body armor to protect it from shocks when taking a hit to the ground, other accidental abuse, and to camouflage with your environment.  You have standard 20-60x magnification, 60 mm objective lens, and a single focus knob.

The optics are fully coated, which isn’t the best, but for the price, it’s expected.  Each air-to-glass lens has been coated at least once.  But, its strengths lie in its compact and lightweight size.  It’s barely over a pound making it conveniently portable and easy on the wrists.  But, if you have some experience using spotters free-hand, you might be able to get away with it with the Feyachi if you have a steady hand.

Surprisingly, the spotting scope is completely waterproof and fogproof.  It’s uncommon to see this quality feature in a spotting scope for under $100, so it certainly earns bonus points in this arena.

While there’s not many complaints on the scope at all, with such a low price on the spotter, you can expect there will be image quality issues.  Chiefly, the quality of focus will diminish as you go up in power.  This will hinder long-distance spotting and focusing-in for acute details.

Great news though, most buyers love the easy-to-use spotting scope and the brand.  Customer service’s quick online replies and ready-to-make-right attitude completely sells it for buyers.  Customer service this good is hard to find, even with some authoritative brands!

Feyachi 20-60X60AE Q&A:

What is the Spotting Range of the Feyachi Scope?

While environmental factors certainly contribute to the effective spotting range of the scope, the needs of users will vary.  However, consistent effective yardage at the range is from 100-500 yards.  For general observation, effective yardage range will be significantly further considering you don’t need the kind of acute attention to detail that you would at the range.

What is the 20-60x Spotting Scope for?

The Feyachi spotting scope is especially convenient for use at the range.  Because it’s so lightweight and compact, it can even be a productive tool for hunting.  Those on a hike or in the wild out to catch a glimpse of wildlife in their natural habitat, the Feyachi spotter will be a priceless optic.

Can the Spotting Scope be used to take Photos?

Buying a digiscope adapter can certainly be used on the Feyachi to take photos or record.  Just ensure you pair your camera or phone with the appropriate adapter to connect to the eyepiece of the spotter.

Does the Feyachi Scope come with any Accessories?

The fantastic, low price of the spotting scope not only includes the scope itself, but it also comes with a bunch of freebies.  You can expect a table top tripod, carry bag, lens caps, eyepiece cap, and an instruction pamphlet with a cleaning cloth.

Does the Spotting Scope Rotate to Change the Viewing Angle?

No.  The scope does not feature a center locking ring to change the viewing angle of the scope.  Its design is static.

Are Eyepieces Included with the 20-60x spotting scope?

The variable 20-60x eyepiece is included with the spotter.  It can’t be interchanged for other variable or fixed eyepieces.

Our Verdict on the 20-60×60 AE by Feyachi

Feyachi 20-60x60AE spotting scope on tripodThe scoop on the scope is, the Feyachi 20-60x60AE is an easy buy.  It’s an easy decision to opt for a simple and easy-to-use scope that costs as little as possible while still delivering quality for the yardage that really matters at the range.  If you like practical buys that make sense, the Feyachi is the perfect example of common sense.

However, there is another scope that can bring competition to Feyachi’s playing field.  The Emarth 20-60x60AE spotter has a couple of upgrades: dual focus knob and fully multi-coated optics.  It’s in and around the same size, weight, and price, but in the end, it’s the image quality that really counts.  Check out our full review on it if you’re interested in comparing it to the Feyachi!

Another very comparable option is the Simmons ProSport 20-60×60 spotting scope.  It’s almost a whole pound heavier than the Feyachi, but it’s specs on paper are very similar.  It comes with a few accessories, has fully coated optics, and is fully waterproof and fogproof too!  But, is it worth the low cost, and does it have the same value the Feyachi has too?  Read the full review to find out!

While Feyachi is nothing fancy, it has a few of the right kind of features to be impressed about.  It’s the epitome of getting the basics while landing better than average image quality.  Feyachi nailed their concept design, what do you think?
