Yes! First off, the 10-30X magnification is on the smaller end for a spotting scope.

Secondly, its full length is 8.75 inches.

Thirdly, it only weighs 14.2 ounces. This is literally half the weight of a full-size, conventional binocular with three times more magnification.

Does the 10-30x50 Landscout come with a tripod?

If you love freebies, then you'll love the LandScout. A rotating tripod mount is thrown in with the Celestron scope purchase.

As far as height goes, you'll be fine with it as long as you're lying down or even sitting. But, if you want something a little taller and perhaps sturdier, you could always change it out for a better one.

For general and close-range hunting, it'll be a great tool to have in your belt.

It's also got decent enough glass quality to get you close range range shots out to 100 yards. But, for really intense, precise, and long range shots on your once-in-a-lifetime trophy hit, you might want to spend more than to get that kind of image quality and long distance spotting. What is the actual ranging distance of the LandScout 10-30X?

On paper, this spotting scope should be able to at least get you out to the 200-300 yard range. Celestron suggests that you even take it to the outdoor range and get some great use there. But...

In practice, this LandScout scope really only performs well in the 100 yard range with splatter targets and larger bullet rounds.

If you want better image quality for further ranging, you might want to spend just a tad more.

The scoop on the scope is, the Celestron Landscout 10-30X50 is a decent, little spotter for close range hunting and great target shooting spotting scope. Your distance glassing is limited to about 300 yards max, but it will get the scouting and spotting done for you before you switch up to binoculars. However, some models seemed to come with cloudy lenses and focus difficulties. But, it didn't earn a spot in the bestselling ranks if this was a trend - or a place on our list of the best cheap spotters below $100.

Another excellent Celestron is the Ultima 65 18-55x65 Straight spotting scope. It's more expensive than the Landscout, but then again, how do you beat 50 bucks (approx)? Plus, you will get a little more ranging and power and a lot more light!
